This is my first photo with my new 50mm f/1.8 lens, using portrait mode. When I took it and looked in the view finder of the camera, it looked like it came out terrible. I don't know why it looks so much better to me here :D

That's a fantastic shot!! Just what the lens was meant for! I'll bet if you enlarge the photo, you can see every detail of that darling pup's eyelashes, right? And yet what would be distracting in the background is sort of beginning to blur. Great use of the lens!

Awwwww! This is so cute.
Honestly about it looking better here, I think it's the black background. I started out with another template before and then switched to this one too and I thought the exact same thing. It seems to make a difference... not sure why? Maybe makes the colors pop?
